A 300 page book that commemorates renowned artist, Wu Guanzhong’s generous donation to Singapore for the National Gallery (Singapore). The overall book design seeks to express Wu’s art without overpowering the works featured. Inspired by Wu’s art, the title and page dividers feature broken typography that plays with visibility and abstraction. A stark white cover opens to reveal a white opening page fading down the spine into a black end that speaks of Wu’s journey in ink. The bilingual design features minute and subtle details and unique typesetting formats for captions and details to create a very quiet identity for this very special publication.
